Healthy Smiles Of Spartanburg Inc

Our school-based oral health screening program reached over 23,000 students across 93 public schools in spartanburg, cherokee, and union counties. During each screening, students received a free toothbrush, a visual oral health assessment, and a referral for follow-up care when necessary. Approximately 1,200 children were identified as needing treatment and referred to our clinic or partner providers. Oral health education materials were sent home with 100% of screened students and their caregivers to reinforce healthy habits.

Over 85,201 children and families in spartanburg county are educated on prevention of oral disease and the importance of proper oral health by educational flyers in school registration packages, community health fairs, summer programs at boys and girls club, and spartanburg and cherokee counties recreation parks. Focus on preventative care and early detection of tooth decay results in less cost per output and outcome and promotes dental health.
