To promote kindness to animals, prevent cruelty to animals, extend humane education, encourage spay/neuter programs among individual pet owners and animals shelters, and encourage programs designed to adopt approved animals held at approved animal shelters to the public.

OUTREACH - In 2022, Heart of America Humane Society added an Outreach Team. That team goes out into the community and educates people on responsible pet ownership and provides basic pet supplies to families in need. During 2024, our Outreach Team assisted and aided 854 animals in our community.
TNR Team - In 2022, Heart of America Humane Society added a Trap, Neuter, Release (TNR) team. This team traps, neuters, and releases feral/community cats back to their location. Altering these cats will help control the number of unwanted litters of kittens in the Greater Kansas City Area. In 2024, this team altered approximately 652 cats.
