In response to the growing crisis caused by the high cost of living we offer one of the fastest solutions to preventing homelessness - by subsidizing housing and other basic needs to help stabilitze families and keep them together. In 2024 Hearts for Moms has subsidized rent and basic needs for 15 Moms and 25 chilren. The housing program helps cover rent, utilities, groceries and furnishings. Our basic needs program provides diapers, wipes, formula, furnishings, clothing, medical and dental services as well as strollers and car seats.
Another area we subsidize as part of our stabilization services is transporation. Needs are met via subsidizing the cost of automobile insurance, gas, repairs. And occassionally cars are donated. This year a special donation of a van set up for a quadriplegic Mom with a three year old daughter.
Hearts for Moms proudly launched our newest program, Hearts for Kids. Designed to meet the unique needs of children to help them thrive alongside their moms. We had a kickoff celebration featuring outdoor games, skill building stations. Childcare and summer programs are covered under this program.
