Spay neuter program no more litters goal: to reduce the number of dogs, cats, puppies and kittens resulting from unintended or uncontrolled breeding in henry county, georgia through assistance with the costs associated with spaying and neutering, as well as education on the benefits of spay / neuter. This program serves residents of henry county who wish to have their animals altered but have not done so because of the costs. Hchs is a no kill shelter; however, our animal control is not, nor are most pounds. Spaying and neutering directly impacts the number of animals who are killed in these shelters by reducing the number of dogs and cats entering the shelters and freeing up homes for homeless pets who are already born.
Rescue we work closely with our county animal shelter -- most of the animals in our program were picked up as strays and not claimed by an owner. Many have been neglected and/or abused. All animals coming into our program receive immediate medical treatment if needed, age-appropriate vaccinations, are spayed/neutered, dewormed, treated for fleas, heartworm tested and treated if necessary, and microchipped with registration fee prepaid.
