Fellows program:through the new york state public health corps (nysphc) fellowship program, hchn supported the fellows assigned to herkimer county. The of the fellowship program is to provide professional development opportunities to enhance and apply public health knowledge through training, education, and mentorship, which expands fellows' public health networks throughout their communities, resulting in a robust new york state public health workforce that is aware of the intricacies of systems thinking and the necessity of community collaboration and uses the strengths of the community to achieve health equity.

Other programs performed by hchn include; sponsoring the national diabetes prevention program, diabetes self- management program, supporting the mohawk valley diaper bank, creating an age-friendly action plan to build a healthier, more inclusive future for older adults and families across our region through a go local grant with the hfcwny (health foundation of central and western new york), determining regional environmental, climate, and energy justice priorities through a grant with we act thriving communities technical assistance center (we act tctac), and supporting youth mental health in the aftermath of the covid-19 pandemic with a large wellness grant partnership with ican.
