Mission
High plains humane society works in curry county and the surrounding areas to reduce animal cruelty, exploitation, and neglect. We advocate for sensible public policies that bring forth positive changes in our community, and we educate the general public on the importance of being responsible pet owners. We are constantly striving to make this world a better place for our furry friends, and we network with other organizations who share our beliefs. Sterilization is the key to solving the region's overpopulation and excessively high euthanasia numbers. We established a continual, low-cost spay and neuter program in the community for pet owners who could not otherwise afford this service, and we maintain a pet food pantry to assist families and pets during times of need. We partner with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and their staff to provide quality care for each pet. As part of the program, each pet is spayed or neutered.
