Grants and Sponsorships provide financial support to eligible nonprofit organizations. Funds are used to assist in productio and promotion of events and/or programs that drive travel and tourism to the Highlands area and Macon County, NC. Funded organizations conduct initiatives and activities related to promotion, advertising, marketing, enhancement of attractions, and implementation of events/programs.

Experiential Events include a variety of free events throughout the year for residents, visitors, and businesses. Events included are High Style featuring the arts from fashion to culinary and everything in between, 50 outdoor concerts, July 4th concert and fireworks, Highlands Heritage Day celebrating local history, Halloween on Main, Light Up the Park and Main to open the holiday season, Highlands Christmas Parade and Santa in the Park as well as Leadership Highlands.
