Hilltown community development corporation's (hcdc) mission is to improve the qualify of life in the hilltowns by addressing the economic, housing, educational, social, and community needs while prserving the rural character of the area.

Community development-hcdc runs and oversees various community and economic development programs in various communities in western massachusetts. Activities include community planning, business assistance, social services, rehabilitation of housing stock, keep farming in the hilltowns and an initiative studying rural transportation across hilltowns. The agency also administers regional community development block grant services annually.

Rental properties-hcdc owns and manages 68 affordable rental units in scattered sites throughout rural hampshire county, 25 of which are for seniors. Hilltown cdc actively pursues opportunities to create or renovate affordable rental housing units for all low to moderate income area residents.
