The low-income home energy assistance program (liheap) provides families with energy assistance by aiding low-income individuals in paying their household energy bills.

The child and adult care food program provides funding for the meals provided at the head start centers.

Hchra operates various other programs such as congregate meals, home delivered meals, and aging transportation. Community services block grant (csbg) offers training, referrals and assistance for low-income families in need. Formula grant for other than urbanized areas help elderly residence maintain their independence by providing them with transportation to obtain goods and services, including medical and dental treatment, social services and other applicable services.
