Mission
The goal was to unite the entire hindu population of greater houston at one place to develop a strong unity and brotherhood among the hindu community. The idea was discussed with a number of active hindu individuals and associations and thus evolved the janmashtami festival.

Year round activities which include media promotion and support to local institutions. Updated directory of major temples and organizations in houston. Working towards creation of hindu blog. Shared voice media radio with sanatan hindu center on every sunday
Other outreach activities for the community and hindu cause including the international yoga day at india house and all across the city
The signature event presented was Janmashtami Festival. This was the 40th Annual Festival celebrated in Greater Houston. At this event Akhil Chopra Award for dedicated service was also organized which is a community service award for an individual who extended selfless services to the community. The celebration is to showcase the core tenets of the Hindu faith that reinforce love towards all living beings, reverence towards Planet Earth and a peaceful coexistence to make this world a better place for all. As the community expanded with many temples and organizations established in the Greater Houston area, the turnout at this event has exponetially increased.
HGH took the initiative to encourage youth who are involved in community activities and have a vision of expansion of their faith to their friends and peers. This is recognition of their dedication to give back to the community and celebrate the future leadership in Hindu community. The Youth Award Night was such an event where Youth nominations were sought from various organizations and temples. They had a motivational speeches that evening
