Hispa leadership workshop series: the leadership workshop series provides access to leadership development, career networks, and role models to the college students enrolled in the new jersey governor's hispanic fellows program, funded by the center for hispanic policy, research, and development. The 8-week summer hispa leadership workshop series brings this cohort of fellows to a variety of public and private sector institutions for a full day each week of leadership development led by various professionals. Each workshop has a unique focus and develops skills key to success in any field. In 2024, ten local organizations hosted leadership workshops. Hispa engaged 113 volunteers in the program; they participated as mentors and speakers, providing professional development talks, conducting mock interviews, and providing invaluable information about multiple careers.
Hispa leaders in college: hispa established the leaders in college program in 2015 to expand the leadership workshop benefits to students beyond the fellows program. The leaders in college program brings various leadership and professional development opportunities to help foster academic and professional success. In 2023-24, hispa delivered leaders in college workshops to rider university, the new jersey institute of technology, mercer county community college, and passaic county community college, serving 130 students. Hispa engaged 22 volunteers who participated as panelists and mentors. Hispa role model engagement and training: in 2023-24, hispa trained 560 volunteers from the public and private sectors through orientation and training sessions. In addition, hispa engaged 1,232 volunteers and supporters throughout the year in educational programs, kick-off events, a fundraising gala, and various other special events.
Other speaking engagements: hispa provides keynote speakers and professional development workshops as part of hispa's overall support for their partner organizations,
