Hispanic Outreach Program Of Goodhue County

The youth & family program, a highly successful after-school program throughout the school year, supports hispanic students ingrades 5-12 with tutoring/mentoring and social/emotional development. Family engagement is another component of this program. It helps students/their families navigate an unfamiliar school system. Thirty-four students and twenty parents were served. We also conducted a six-week summer enrichment program, serving forty additional students

Hispanic outreach hosts an annual hispanic heritage festival. Its a one-day event that celebrates hispanic culture and promotes intercultural understanding. The event includes musical performance, traditional cooking workshops, educational lessons about hispanic culture, and art activities for all ages. An estimated 1,500 people attended this event.meet.learn.share (mls) and an art project were part of this years events as well. Hosting 34 activites with about 700 participants.
