To collect and preserve the cultural heritage of Logan County, Ky and the surrounding area, including and emphasizing our shared history of slavery, emancipation and the struggles for freedom, equality and civil rights; and to develop museum sites that will provide educational programming related to this history so that visitors can seek knowled.ge, truth and understanding

Restoration was completed on the 1870's Chapel located on the property owned by the people who were freed in 1839 by RIchard Bibb, and the structure is now included in the historical tours of the museum.
A grant to develop educational resources and recruit students to the museum was completed, and the funds were used to develop educational materials and to meet with educators and host visits to the museum's exhibits.
