The historical and genealogical society of indiana county seeks to promote a greater appreciation of the indiana community's rich heritage and a better understanding of life today. The society's purpose is to collect and preserve materials illustrative to indiana county, its families, businesses, organizations, etc.
Programs

The indiana county historical museum's function is to collect and preserve local historal artifacts and to tell the story of our county and it's people. Various tours, events and programs are held in the museum and in the county's communities. Students are actively involved and benefit from their experiences.
Preservation: the society maintains two buildings, both on the national register of historic places. The clark house, built in 1869, contains two restored parlors and archival storage and work areas. The old armory, built in 1922, houses the administrative offices, museum and library.
