Education for members: the association offers education opportunities for its members and the industry through speakers at general membership meetings, special workshops on a variety of topics specific to the industry, and as a licensed provider of education seminars through the university of housing of the national associations of home builders.

Education for consumers: the association facilitates education of consumers about the home building industry and home improvement through a variety of means including agreements with local newspapers for weekly articles, a website and blog containing information needed by consumers, and workshops at consumer events including the southern home and garden shows. In some years the association also presents events such as wine wednesday for women and cornhole tournaments.
