Microgrid Program: This program designs and implements cooperatively-managed, locally owned solar microgrids serving communities especially impacted by the effects of climate change. The Honnold Foundation's Microgrid Program is a flagship initiative that develops community-owned solar microgrids in places especially susceptible to the impacts of climate change. Our inaugural project is the Adjuntas Microgrid, a 187 kW photovoltaic system powering 13 businesses in a small town in Puerto Rico. In 2022, we finalized all solar installations and began preparations for battery storage finalization in 2023.
