Mission
Housing Development Corporation (HDC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving housing stability and affordability for individuals and families across south-central Nebraska. We develop, rehabilitate, and preserve affordable housing; assist low- to moderate-income households with home repairs and down payment assistance; and provide financial education to promote long-term self-sufficiency and community revitalization.
Programs

Owner-Occupied Repair: HDC provides financial and technical assistance to low-income homeowners to complete essential health, safety, and accessibility repairs. These improvements help preserve existing housing stock and allow residents to remain safely in their homes.
Affordable Housing Development & Management: HDC develops, rehabilitates, owns, and manages affordable rental and lease-to-own housing for households earning below 80% of the area median income. These projects address the critical shorage of affordable housing in the region.
Financial Literacy & Homebuyer Education: HDC offers education and counseling programs such as RentWise and REACH to help individuals build financial capability, improve credit, and prepare for successful homeownership or tenancy. These classes are open to the public.
