Mission
To keep the public aware of Fair Housing and Fair Lending laws and other housing issues, such as Foreclosures, Predatory Lending, and First Time buyers information.

Housing Education and Economic Development (HEED) undertook a Comprehensive Housing Counseling project for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). As part of this project, HEED provided homebuyer education to 12 persons. HEED also provided one-on-one housing counseling to 78 households, including homeless, pre-purchase, post-purchase, rental and mortgage default. The total number of households served was 90.
HEED also provided education and counseling services to 10 households with the aid of a CDBG grant from the City of Jackson, Mississippi.
HEED contracted with MS Home Saver program to provide processing of Homeowner Assistance Fund applications to assist homeowners affected by Covid-19 in reinstating their mortgage loans
HEED also held its 35th Annual Fair Housing, Fair Lending Conference, which was attended by 82 persons.
HEED was the recipient of a grant from Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas, which was matched by local participating banks to support HEED in its efforts to provide fair housing services to the northern half of the State of Mississippi.
HEED was awarded $5000 as part of a Fair Housing Complaint Conciliation Agreement
