Building management: housing options owns eight apartment buildings and leases approximately 20 additional apartments throughout the city of evanston, the village of skokie, and the city of des plaines. The agency owns or leases property in eight of nine wards in evanston. The organization fully furnishes and equips all of it's apartments with furniture, appliances, linens and dishes. Most residents live in studio, one, two or three bedroom apartments, but each has his or her own bedroom. To help ensure that housing is affordable to residents, rent is paid on a sliding scale. Housing options subsidizes rents so that residents are able to concentrate on their recovery. As many residents have been homeless at some point in their lives, providing a safe and comfortable home is essential to the recovery process. The agency prides itself on the way in which it maintains its buildings. The buildings blend into their neighborhoods and are exceptionally well maintained. Support services are offered to all persons residing in housing options owned or leased housing.
