Hccc advances education about the process, product and history of craft by presenting all aspects of contemporary craft to the houston community through public education, exhibits, and artist residencies.

Programs

3 programs

Artist in residence program - competitive awards to up to 10 artist per year for 6 to 12 month residencies which include a modest stipend, internet, overhead and individual studio space. Artists are required to open their studios 24 hours each week to interact with the public.

Expenses: $318K

Education and outreach - workshops, tours, afterschool, and in-school intensive programs. Free public activities such as demonstrations, family-day craft making activities and open galleries.

Expenses: $270K

Craft exhibit and sales gallery that advances education about craft by displaying crafts and providing information about the artistic process and the craftspersons.
