Houston Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.

Programs

Long-term mortgage financing is a key component of making Houston Habitat homes affordable. Affordable low interest mortgages are provided to qualified persons as payment for the homes sold. During 2024, 9 homes were sold and financed by Houston Habitat.

Expenses: $4.2M

Houston Habitat also operates 2 ReStores, home improvement outlets that are open to the public. The ReStores accept donations from individuals, corporations and retail stores in the area and purchase some material for resale. In 2024, the ReStores sold 152,308 items, saving an estimated 1.8 million pounds from the landfill.

Expenses: $1.5M

Houston Habitat repairs homes damaged by Disasters such as Hurricane Harvey for low-income homeowners through our Disaster Home Repair Program. Houston Habitat helps by providing the repairs necessary to make homes safe, sanitary and secure. The Disaster Home Repair Program is accomplished through partnerships with various agencies, corporations, foundations and individuals. In 2024, Houston Habitat repaired 72 homes.
