Education: houston public media continues to offer free educational resources for prek-12 students and educators through our pbs learningmedia which provides teachers and students instant access to over 30,000 classroom-ready materials. More than 385,000 greater houston residents used pbs learningmedia in 2024. As part of our partnership with the university of houston (uh) and in service of our education mission, houston public media supported several uh initiatives, including: engines of our ingenuity - a long-running daily radio and digital program about the machines that make our civilization run and the people whose ingenuity created them. It is produced in concert with the uh cullen college of engineering. Briefcase - featuring informative discussions on various legal topics affecting the general public. It is produced in partnership with the uh law center. Bauer business focus - a weekly broadcast of interviews with expert guests about issues that affect the houston business community. It is sponsored by the uh bauer college of business and texas mutual. Health matters - a radio series aimed at empowering listeners to lead healthy lives by providing practical health care information from experts. The series is sponsored by the uh tilman j. Fertitta family college of medicine. Uh moment - a weekly highlight of some of the innovative research, programs, and successes that make up the story of the university of houston.

Arts and culture: houston public media was one of three pbs member stations to partner with pbs digital studios as a regional digital center of innovation (rdci). In 2024, we produced our second rdci series, roots of resistance. Hosted by software engineer, content creator, and writer felecia for the win, the series explores how society has been shaped by various resistance movements and the people involved in creating them. Voter disenfranchisement, the history and impact of boycotts, and health care activism are just a few of the topics roots of resistance digs into. We are proud to say that roots of resistance was nominated for an naacp image award. Also in 2024, houston public media and local radio station ktsu developed a strategic partnership aimed at expanding both stations' audiences, reach, and impact. The partnership will allow ktsu's the vibe, an urban alternative station, to reach a vast region via houston public media's kuhf 88.7 hd3 platform. In turn, houston public media's newscasts will air on ktsu's primary channel, the choice. The collaboration provides expanded services for our community, giving new audiences access to music, journalism, and community connection.
