Programs

1 program

Training, education and communityhsdc's education programs build sustainable partnerships with chicago public schools that include in-school residencies, teacher professional development, teaching artist training, and performance opportunities. Hsdc's teaching artists are working with educators in over 70 classrooms across 15 schools, serving over 1,800 students in the 2023-2024 school year. Hubbard street also welcomed students into the community with two free student matinee performancesan in-person performance on november 3, 2023, where the company performs for 1,200+ students and 100+ educators at harris theater for music and dance, and virtual matinee called hubbard live! On march 1, 2024. Hubbard street recognizes accessibility and dance are not conflicting concepts in its adaptive programs. The autism project functions to support the needs of all students and hsdc's parkinson's project helps participants and caregivers build dexterity, community, and confidence in four separate session periods throughout the year. Hsdc continues to offer our annual summer intensive programs, which allow dancers from ages 13-25 the opportunity to engage with diverse voices in the field in three separate sessions from july-august. This year, hubbard street has added an adult intensive session called dance on! For dancers 26and up and continued our fellowship opportunities for 4-6 young dancers to be invited back to hubbard street to rehearse alongside the company in the fall.
