Animal rescue league of new bedford, inc., d/b/a humane society & shelter-southcoast, provides services to reduce the number of homeless pets. The organization provides quarantine services to other rescue organizations bringing animals into massachusetts from other states, rescues stray animals, provides them veterinary care and offers them for adoption to appropriate homes. The pets are all spayed/neutered prior to adoption to reduce the number of unwanted animals. The organization also offers affordable rabies clinics, and boarding services to current pet owners to help prevent abandonment due to the cost of pet care.
