Legislative and regulatory support - the association tracks legislation and regulations that affect the members, provides regular alerts, and relies on its management association, illinois municipal electric association to intervene through timely lobbying efforts.

Communications - the association produces a semi-annual newsletter, an annual membership directory, and other communication materials to its members highlighting issues and events important to all municipal utility officials. Approximately 286 newsletters are distributed semi-annually and approximately 220 directories are distributed annually.
