In 1991, several small independent electrical contractors in Las Cruces, NM joined to form the Las Cruces/Don Ana chpater of the Independent Electrical Contractors which later became Southern New Mexico IEC. The purpose of the organization is: to promote the common business interest of the electrical contracting industry, to facilitate education and training of those in the industry, to engage in promoting the services of the electrical contracting industry to the various segments of the construction industry and to the general public, to acquire, preserve, and disseminate valuable business information
