Mission

The independent film & television alliance shall serve as a trade association whosemission is to promote, protect, and support the independent film and television industry, which consists of those companies that are in the business of producing and/or representing films and/or television programming and licensing such programming for distribution worldwide primarily through third party distributors and platforms. It shall achieve its objectives and purpose by engaging in public advocacy to advance the business interests and expand the marketplace opportunities for the independent film and television industry worldwide; by conducting trade shows relating to the theatrical motion picture and television industry, including the annual american film market ("afm"); and by delivering services and programs that are consistent with its mission and not otherwise available to its members.

Ifta collections secures the royalties and levies that flow from secondary audio-visual rights for film and television worldwide. Secondary rights include cable, satellite and other retransmission royalties, private copy levies, video rental levies, educational royalties, theatrical box office levies, public performance television royalties, and public performance video royalties. Highly regarded and result-driven, since 1994 ifta collections has collected more than $172 million on behalf of the companies whose film and television works it represents from producers and authors societies throughout the world.

The independent film & television alliance's participation at various international film and television markets enables its members to establish and maintain a global presence in the distribution of motion picture and television product.

The independent film & television alliance's website (www.ifta-online.org) serves as a resource for all member companies, the industry at large, and the general public, providing them with up-to-date information and knowledge pertaining to the global independent motion picture & television industry. Myifta is the online community for members of the independent film & television alliance (ifta). This forum was created so that ifta members worldwide can gather, ask questions, share insights and information, learn, and help one another navigate an ever-changing global marketplace. Members are welcome in the myifta community and encouraged to exchange information.the film catalogue is ifta's online database and the independent film industry resource with information on thousands of projects and films available at all major markets, including afm. Efm, filmart and cannes. Buyers can read synopses, view cast, production credits and posters, watch trailers, and easily search by production status, genre, language, director, cast, company and title.
