Mission

Icadv works for the prevention and elimination of domestic violence - until the violence ends. Icadv works to eliminate domestic violence through the implementation of prevention programs and public awareness in communities and schools, through advocacy for system change, and through the influencing of public policy and allocation of resources.

Programs

Direct services: icadv staff and contractors assisted 665 survivors of violence with over 1,065 services provided including crisis information and referral, advocacy and resource navigation, emotional support and safety services, and civil/criminal justice support through direct civil legal assistance. Icadv collaborates with the national domestic violence hotline to respond to the states' 24-hour crisis line and deaf hope to respond to the needs of deaf or hard of hearing survivors.

Coordination, collaboration, and training: icadv coordinated closely with community partners, domestic violence programs, and the criminal justice system to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated response to domestic violence across indiana. Through these partnerships, icadv promoted access to best-practice service approaches, comprehensive resources, and economic justice funds that help survivors achieve safety and long-term stability. The organization provided extensive technical assistance on topics such as victim services operations, safety planning, housing solutions, homicide reduction strategies, program development, and survivor-centered response. Additionally, icadv delivered robust training opportunities both in-person and virtual to law enforcement, prosecutors, advocates, medical professionals, and allied partners, reaching more than 3,000 professionals to strengthen community capacity and enhance coordinated systems of support for survivors.

Fundraising: icadv hosts several annual fundraising events, including race away from domestic violence and circle of champions, to advance its mission and raise funds that support survivors' economic stability and long-term safety.
