Sexual assault response coordination - the foundation of icesaht's work is to ensure victims of sexual violence and human trafficking have access to services. Icesaht continues to advocate for an increase of rape crisis centers (rccs) and sexual assault response teams (sarts). Rape crisis centers help survivors feel safe and empowered. Trained victim advocates provide compassionate support at any point during a survivor's healing journey. Services include: 24-hour crisis line, hospital/medical advocacy, criminal justice advocacy, professional counseling/therapy and support groups. Sexual assault response teams (sarts) play a powerful role in improving the collective response to sexual violence by increasing access to justice and healing. Sarts improve access to services by addressing barriers, service delivery, increasing offender accountability, and working with victims with trauma informed, victim centered and culturally competent best practices. Icesaht provided more than 1,000 hours of support hours to rccs and sarts in fy 2024.

Human trafficking initiatives - icesaht co-chaired ipath with the u.s. Attorney's office for the southern district of indiana and has provided administrative oversight and coordination since 2016 with a multidisciplinary effort consisting of a law enforcement committee with state and federal law enforcement agencies; a victim services committee of youth and adult service organizations and healthcare workers; an outreach committee that works on youth prevention curriculum and anti-demand initiatives; and a labor trafficking-specific committee that connects labor trafficking victims with legal and other services.

Prevention - given that sexual violence is 100% preventable, icesaht is focused on the implementation of evidence based primary prevention strategies. Icesaht created and continues to engage in awareness campaigns to educate the public about sexual violence and human trafficking, and the resources available to victims. The speak up speak out project has been implemented on college campuses across indiana - the curriculum focuses on healthy masculinity, rape culture, breaking out of the man box and how to be an effective bystander. In addition, icesaht offers a bystander training course to high school and college students, equipping them with the skills to effectively and safely intervene to stop sexual assault before it occurs.
