Environmental stewardship council - this is an ongoing year-long function of the association. The purpose is to provide a self-regulated reclamation program for the industry.

Other workshops and seminars - includes the activities of the public information and education committee, which conducts outreach services; also includes a summer meeting to update members and provide educational opportunities, and safety training.
