Programs

1 program

The apex benefits monumental kids movement presented by indiana university of indianapolis, is a seven-to-nine-week, curriculum-based youth running program that culminates with students running a 5k. This bi-weekly program focuses on educating students about the benefits of exercise, proper diet, and healthy living. In 2024, the apex benefits monumental kids movement presented by indiana university, indianapolis continued and expanded its in-person participation for schools within several central indiana school districts including indianapolis public schools, as well as decatur, lawrence, perry, and washington township school districts. On september 25, 2024, beyond monumental hosted the 3rd annual apex benefits monumental kids movement 5k race and health expo. This year the event also gained a new presenting sponsor making this event, the apex benefits monumental kids movement 5k presented by indiana university, indianapolis. This is a standalone event held just for the participants of the mkm program. More than 20 health and wellness vendors came out to the grounds of lucas oil stadium to host a health expo for over 3,000 participants, parents, and mentors prior to and during the 5k race that started and ended at lucas oil stadium. The beyond monumental board of directors once again set aside restricted funds to be used for the mkm program totaling $150,000. In addition to the board designated funds, beyond monumental raised an additional $142,035 through sponsorships and race participant donations for 2024 programming. Cash donations of 51,500 were paid out to participating school districts and other youth health and wellness focused charities. Other programming and event costs totaled $76,488. Additionally, beyond monumental estimates an annual allocation of salaries and other employee related expenses of $56,748 directly tied to the apex benefits monumental kids movement program and event. In 2025, beyond monumental hopes to hire an individual who will be directly responsible for growing and managing the monumental kids movement program. Since the inception of the apex benefits' monumental kids movement, with the generosity of our partners, participants, and our board of directors, our program has had a direct and positive influence on the health and wellness of the youth in our community. We have been able to: empower more than 32,467 students to learn and be active through the program. Support 2,955 volunteers who have served as program motivators to engage and inspire the students participating in the program; and donate over $1.6 million to local public health and wellness education.at its annual meeting in january 2025, the beyond monumental board of directors again voted to continue to have a total of $150,000 in restricted funds for 2025 apex benefits monumental kids movement programming.in 2025, health and wellness programming will continue, and students will again be able to participate in a stand-alone 5k event. As always, the program is continually looking to expand within its current school districts as well as adding new school districts.
