The public allies program fosters new leadership to enhance communities, nonprofits, and civic participation. Inrc serves as the local operating partner for americorps public allies indianapolis. This program empowers local, diverse leaders through leadership development opportunities as they serve with various indianapolis nonprofits, thereby building organizational capacity. Allies participate in regular skill-building and leadership sessions with their cohort, receiving life and professional development coaching throughout their service. During their term, allies strengthen their host organizations, collaborate on a community-focused service project, and engage with local leaders to address pressing community issues. In 2023, the americorps public allies indianapolis celebrated the graduation of 15 allies who were placed with various nonprofits across the city.

This initiative reinforces the strengths and assets of indianapolis neighborhoods by providing financial resources for projects and activities that foster resident engagement, promote neighborhood action, and cultivate strong relationships among neighbors, grassroots organizations, and other stakeholders.
