Mission
The indy learning team builds partnerships to create opportunity through access to literacy. We accomplish this by: empowering and investing in community members and programs; providing science-based explicit literacy instruction to catch kids before they fail; building an infrastructure to deal with unanticipated needs and problems; creating a low barrier of entry for students and families.

The free communi-tea book club is a partnership with tamika catchings and her foundation catch the stars. Free books are available year-round at tea's me community caf near tarkington park in indianapolis. In 2024, we gave away more than 3,500 new books. We have 1,400 people in our free communi-tea book club.
Tilt tech: the indy learning team uses adira reads' tilt tech, a literacy building program that uses ai to improve instructional impact, steady student growth, stronger foundational literacy skills, and actionable insights for teachers and administrators. In 2024, tilt tech with adira reads supported more than 300 students.
Tilt's programs also include engaging storytimes featuring authors and literacy advocates, curated book distributions to build home libraries, and structured professional development for educators to implement science-based literacy strategies.
