The institute for domestic and international affairs, inc. Idia is a 501c3 not-for-profit corporation dedicated to providing innovative educational opportunities to students of all ages so they may better understand their role in global and domestic civil society. In order for the voting age population to be active participants in government and community, it is important that younger populations have an in-depth and compelling understanding of their responsibilities both to their government and to their fellow citizens.

Programs

Philadelphia Model UN 2024 took place in February and centered the geographical region of South and Central America and challenged students to examine both historical and contemporary questions of democracy and authoritarianism. Nearly 20 schools and 500 students attended, making this one of the largest PhilMUNs in recent memory. Specific committees included the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, Brazil's Cabinet of Ministers, and a historical simulation of the 1997 United Nations Verification Mission in Guatemala.

Rutgers Model Congress 2024 took place in April. Like previous RMC's, this edition was an education simulation of the US Congress and other domestic government bodies including the Supreme Court and non-government simulations such as federal electoral campaigns. Students engaged with both policymaking and electoral politics, lobbying, and advocacy in a non-partisan and educational context. Approximately 230 students participated in this year's conference.
