Mission
The Institute for Sustainable Diversity and Inclusion (ISDI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the workplace. Its primary purpose is strengthening individual and organizational capabilities to create diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environments. In 2024, ISDI advanced this mission through three core programs: the Northwest Diversity Learning Series (NWDLS), Professional Development Sessions, and DEI Consulting Sessions.

Professional Development Sessions* D&I and HR Leaders Group: Members attended NWDLS morning workshops plus six exclusive afternoon meetings with presenters (serving about 50 people), which focused on strategy sharing, challenge-solving, and peer networking.* Strategic Thinking Meetings: Hosted two 3-hour sessions for D&I and HR Leaders Group and other guests: 1. "Diversity Under Attack: How Leaders Can Make a Difference in this Struggle," with co-authors, Jonathan Stutz and Eddie Pate, of the new book, Daily Practices of Inclusive Leaders, and 2. "Comprehensive DEI Survey Tool," with developer, Dr. Joseph Marth, Archbright. The tool allows organizations to assess how they are doing in 4 key DEI areas: Leadership, Culture, HR Policies & Practices, and External Practices. * Sponsor/Subscriber Planning: Held two summer planning meetings to ensure NWDLS topics address emerging workplace issues.MeasurementParticipant knowledge and competency were measured per session using the Kirkpatrick Level II evaluation model (assessing learning objectives pre- and post-training), recognized as an industry standard. The average improvement score over the six workshops (comparing the pre- and post-assessments) was 48.34% (the range 30.00% to 85.92%. Generally, a 25% improvement score from pre- to post-assessment is considered a good score.
DEI Consulting Services2024 saw decreased consulting revenue reflecting broader industry trends. Despite this, ISDI continued offering leadership development, board development, and organizational transformation services. Future strategy (2025-2026) will explore alternative funding to sustain impact.
