Mission

Founded in 1953, iest is a 501(c)(3) international technical society with members who are recognized for their contributions to environmental sciences in contamination control/cleanrooms, environmental test and reliability, or nanotechnology facilities. Iest is an ansi-accredited standards-developing organization; secretariat of iso/tc 209; administrator of the us tag to iso/tc 209; and a founding member of the us tag to iso/tc 229 nanotechnologies. Iest's vision is to advance the knowledge of the environmental sciences and technology community by sharing our recognized global expertise in cleanrooms and controlled environments. Iest's mission is to globally expand and communicate the knowledge of contamination control, nanotechnology facilities, environmental test, and product reliability. This is accomplished through the development of recommended practices and standards by a community dedicated to professional collaboration, training, and education.
