Intercultural mutual assistance association builds bridges between cultures by providing culturally and linguistically appropriate services

Imaa reduces cultural and social barriers to health care through the work of certified community health workers (chw). Imaa's chw's helped 479 individuals obtain or retain health insurance, and 759 individuals live healthier lives (759 individuals referred for services, 3889 visits provided for referral received and 1989 calls made to individuals offering food insecurity resources to residents of austin, albert lea, and rochester communities.)

Interpretive and translation services - imaa provided approximately 7082 hours of interpretation and translation services to help bridge the language barrier that exists between individuals with limited english proficiency and the community in which they live.

Imma builds bridges to safety and hope by providing culturally sensitive bilingual advocacy, information about victim's rights, and system navigation to victims of general crime. Between fiscal year july 1, 2023 to june 30, 2024, 22 individuals or victims of crime found safety and began to rebuild their lives. 11 individuals or families received services through the legal clinic and received free legal consultation. No individuals or families received free immigration consultation through the immigration clinic as we were unable to secure an immigration attorney.
