Conferences including annual exhibition & educational seminars - association members meet to learn about intermodal transportation products & services and exchange ideas, and set operating policies & procedures of the association.

Marketing and education (previously publications and products) - the marketing/communications department is responsible for managing all external communications on behalf of the association as well as the development of promotional campaigns for products, services, event attendance and membership recruitment. In addition, the department also solicits advertising revenue. Products and publications support member needs in furtherance of their educational, business and regulatory compliance objectives.

Membership dues and other member services.

Policy and communications - the policy department is responsible for monitoring all legislative and regulatory activities which could impact members of the association. Specific functions include: providing weekly tracking matrixes for regulations and legislation; attending hearings; developing policy papers; analyzing the impacts of proposed regulations and legislation; and drafting agency and congressional filings.
