To secure the efforts of all employees towards the betterment of the service from the standpoint of both employer and employees and to promote the welfare of it members and the general efficiency of the department. The object of this organization shall be attained through collective bargaining, by cultivating officials and employees, and by other lawful means. This local and its membership shall not strike or take any active part in strikes, or any disloyal conduct, as we are formed to protect the lives and property of this community in case of fire or other hazards, and we pledge ourselves faithfully to this trust.
