Iamse is a member-based organization where its members pay annual dues. Membership in iamse provides professional advancement opportunities to network with colleagues at other medical facilities, establish collaboration and exchange programs, publish in the association journal, conduct and/or attend courses and workshops on educational medthods, present projects from their school, and develop the credentials of a truly effective medical educator.
Iamse offers multiple webcast audio seminars during the year. A webcast audio seminar is typically a one hour telelphone conference supplemented by webcast powerpoint slides. The webinars are a method of exchanging vital information on timely topics in medical education. Webinars often cover topics such as anatomy, behavioral science, biochemistry, microbiology, immunology, pathology, pharmcology, and physiology. Each webinar is presented by an acknowledged expert in the field of the presentation and will present for 40-45 minutes and offer a question and answer period for the remainder of the hour-long session.
Iamse publishes a peer reviewed journal, the medical science educator, which is a source for current information on scholarly activities, opinions, research and resources in medical science education.
