Mission
The purpose of the international brotherhood of electrical workers local union no. 728 is to promote the educational, charitable, fraternal, civic, and benevolent welfare of its members and of the community. Its primary source of revenue is from dues and assessments from members.

To organize the electrical industry in the u.s. And canada into local unions, to promote reasonable methods of work, settle employee and management disputes. The most significant is organizing for the betterment of the membership, including seeking a higher standard of living, seeking security for the individual, and by legal and proper means to elevate the moral, intellectual, and social conditions of the members, their families, and dependents in the interest of a higher standard of citizenship. An annual brotherhood event at christmas is put on to help cultivate feelings of friendship among those in the industry. There is someone to help members with their pension, annuity, and retirement related issues to better track and maintain their retirement benefits, thus attaining a higher sense of security. Monthly membership meeting are held to keep members informed about current events as they relate to the industry and employment. Other programs: aiding the sick or distressed members.
