To increase awareness of prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of musculoskeletal infections by publishing consensus statements developed utilizing the delphi method of literature review and expert consensus.

The icmi has been able to support the salary of one research fellow position within the international consensus meeting on infection. This coveted fellowship involves completing research based on findings of the icmi meetings in order to further develop evidence physicians can use when treating patients with infection. This international fellowship also involves a travel component which allows the fellow to travel to and learn from leading institutions in orthopaedics.
