International Federation Of Societies For Surgery Of The Hand

The federation supports the development and advancement of the science of hand surgery worldwide by making grants to organizations and individuals with a major interest in hand surgery to fund educational opportunities and activities likely to improve the quality of hand surgery throughout the world. In 2024, grants were provided to support education worldwide. Grants have been provided to the local host organization of the upcoming 2025 ifssh-ifsht congress, to sponsor the 2025 ifssh-aahs/assh travelling fellowship program that brings young surgeons to the usa, visiting hand surgery centers and attending the 2025 congress. Grants were approved to assist the preparation of the "current practice in hand surgery" textbook. An educational program in china was supported in which experienced surgeons from eastern china attended centers in two major western china provinces to teach and assist local surgeons. Educational grants were also provided to the international federation of societies for hand therapy therapists (ifsht) to support their programs.

The federation publishes an ezine (e-magazine) which includes scientific articles contributed by various individual surgeons, medical professionals, professors and others. The federation also oversees the "hand surgery resource" educaitonal asset, providing online free access to all hand surgeons for their continuing education.
