In response to grant request, the ifsa awarded funding of 29,000 to the brazilian sprinkler association (abspk) to enhance its role as a trusted advisor to fire departments across brazil. The project aims to build relationships with fire department officials, promoting education on sprinkler standards and identifying opportunities for upgrades in their technical instruction to increase demand for sprinkler systems. Abspk will develop a cross-checking process among state fire safety legislation to identify gaps and propose improvements. Meetings with fire department commanders will be scheduled to present these proposals. Additionally, the project includes implementing a help desk to support officials with codes and standards, as well as offering online training programs such as "abspk 360- and "abspk pelo brasil" to engage officials and strengthen abspk's advisory role.
In response to grant request, the ifsa awarded funding of 5,000 to the brazilian sprinkler association (abspk) to support the development and distribution of a free, plain language e-book aimed at educating corporate professionals on managing fire protection systems. The e-book is designed to enhance fire safety awareness by explaining the key elements required in a fire prevention plan in brazil. It emphasizes the critical role of sprinkler systems, and outlines the primary components & certifications. Additionally, the publication will provide an overview of both national and international standards recognized by brazilian authorities. And stress the importance of inspection, testing, and maintenance throughout the life of a sprinkler system to ensure continued effectiveness and compliance with regulations.
