Mission
International microloans of buffalo inc. ("imb") is a not for profit corporation formed in nys and is a 501 c 3 entity. It is a micro loans company, meaning that it loans out money to individuals that operate subsistence businesses around the world. This is done through the kiva organization (www.kiva.org) and their website. Kiva orchestrates loans for people around the world and imb is run by students at st joes under my guidance as well as a couple of faculty members. Imb has dollars that have been deposited at kiva and uses those funds to "purchase" loans at kiva. As the loans are repaid, there are funds available to purchase additional loans. The loans are fairly short term (generally less than a year) additionally, money is raised, deposited into the evans bank account, and then sent to kiva for more loan opportunities. In 2024, $4,146.00 was raised. Total amount of revenue from loan repayments in 2024: $ 31,185 bank balance 12/31/24 : $ 2,196.00
