"building capacity on youth sex trafficking" is supported by grant no. 15jovw-23-gk-05122-cy from the u.s. Department of justice, office on violence against women. This project aims to provide targeted training and technical assistance to ovw grantees and their community partners in the children, youth and engaging men program to prevent youth sex trafficking through improved wrap around services to identify, assist, and restore the health and well-being of young people at risk of or who have experienced youth sex trafficking. Project objectives include: 1. Reduce the number and extent of gaps in the response to youth sex trafficking. 2. Increase the capacity of grantees to prevent youth sex trafficking. 3. Increase the capacity of grantees to identify, serve, and refer youth sex trafficking.

"youth mentoring to prevent the trafficking of girls" is supported by grant no. 15povc-21-gg-02836-girl from the u.s. Department of justice, office of victims of crime. This project aims to prevent and reduce victimization of girls throughout westchester county who are vulnerable to sex trafficking. This project focuses on girls ages 12-18 years of age who are involved with the child welfare system and have a history of trauma, physical and/or sexual abuse, commercial sexual exploitation, and/or sex trafficking. Project deliverables include: 1) scale up prevention and early intervention program for girls who are at risk of or are victims of human trafficking. 2) increase support for girls who are at risk of or are victims of sex trafficking through participation in survivor informed, evidence-based mentoring program. 3) increase efforts to center youth typically overrepresented and underserved as victims of trafficking including vulnerable youth, youth with disabilities, etc. 4) increase efforts to provide trauma-informed services for girls who are at risk for or victims of trafficking by expanding partnerships across westchester county agencies and service providers.
