Member benefits include: access to educational resources (webinars, accredited training programs), eligibility to participate in one of 40+ expert-led committees, access to cytotherapy, the society's peer- reviewed journal, reduced rates to isct annual and regional meetings, networking, and mentorship opportunities for career development. Individuals may join isct through three different membership categories: individual, laboratory, industry community. The aggregate average membership retention rate is 78%. In 2024, there were approximately 4,500 global members.
Workforce training and development identifies, develops, and delivers isct training and development programs to address current skills gaps in cell and gene therapy (cgt) translation. The goals of the isct institute of training and development are to create globally accredited cgt training programs through quality content, standards, and expertise, and to provide a longitudinal approach for long-term career development. In 2024, there were 442 participants in 10 courses covering a variety of topics.
Cytotherapy, the official journal of isct, publishes novel and innovative results from high quality scientific and clinical studies in the fields of cell and gene therapy. In addition to short reports and full-length articles, the journal also accepts editorials on emerging trends and potential controversies in the field and review articles summarizing important areas of cell and gene therapy research that are topical and/or challenge existing paradigms in the field.cytotherapy considers manuscripts exploring the following topics:- gene, cell (includes stem cells and ipscs) and evidence-based therapies- regulatory frameworks and policy issues in cgt (cell and gene therapy)- novel and innovative results from basic, translational, and clinical studies in cgt- important advances in cell/gene-based product manufacturing, commercialization, and patient access - clinical studies evaluating the safety and efficacy of cell and gene therapiescytotherapy does not publish manuscripts on the following topics:- case studies unless they are of unusual significance to the field- basic/translational studies exploring the role of lncrnas, circrnas, and mirnas in disease pathophysiology- studies describing signaling pathways implicated in cancer
