Mission

Iea's mission is to promote lifelong involvement in equestrian athletics. Iea wishes to introduce students in grades 4-8 (future) and 9-12 (upper school) to equestrian sports and to develop understanding and appreciation of equestrian sports through organized competitions and educational opportunities. Iea further wishes to inspire and facilitate adults to continue their journey in equestrian athletics for a lifetime.

Programs

Interscholastic equestrian association aims to develop understanding, appreciation, and participation in equestrian sports through organized competitions and additional equine educational opportunities. During fy 23-24, our organization hosted 1047 shows. We showed an additional increase in membership ending at a total member count of 14,984.

The iea focused on a major technology update in fy 23-24. The iea's membership and event tracking systems were becoming dated and no longer supported by its base platform. We spent much of the year working on initial planning, directives and logistics for a new system. Research, bid proposals and interviews were done, and the iea began work in december to build a new operating system. That project will be ongoing and is expected to be completed in spring 2025. Additionally, the iea continues to enhance and improve our "adult pilot program,- and adults riders were included for the first time at iea national finals in 2024. The program is still under consideration for full integration into the iea offerings.
