Optimize the lives of intestinal failure patients worldwide through innovative nutritional, medical, psychosocial, surgical and transplant research and therapies. Advance the support for all professionals working in the field of intestinal transplantation and rehabilitation with regard to education, policy, research and advocacy.

Intestinal Failure is the official journal of IIRTA. The journal publishes authoritative papers covering basic and clinical science related to intestinal failure, rehabilitation and transplantation. The journal is a forum for debate and is a major platform for promoting understanding, improving results, and advancing science in intestinal rehabilitation and transplantation.
IIRTA offer several awards to individuals who made significant contributions to the field of intestinal failure and transplantation. The purpose of the awards is to recognize young scientists at the IIRTA biennial conference and inspire the young generation and promote the scientific career of young investigators in the field of intestinal failure and transplantation.
