The mission statement of the iheia is: to promote and support huntereducation in the state of iowa.the purpose of the iheia is to organize hunter education instructorsthroughout iowa into an association with the following goals.a. A dedication to making hunter education available to all citizens of the stateof iowa;b. To work with various agencies and organizations regarding the developmentand improvement of iowa hunter education programs and wildlifeconservation;c. To provide exposure to state-of-the-art trends in hunter education;d. To promote awareness and share information regarding new developments inhunter education; ande. To provide a forum wherein members can discuss issues, propose solutions,and solicit support from the iheia. Programs

Becoming an outdoor woman holds several events throughout the year with the two largest being the spring and winter retreats. 40 to 50 people attend each event and are taught several outdoor experiences such as dutch oven cooking, foraging, fishing, hunting and camping. It expands their outdoor knowledge and how to be safe in the outdoors.
Advanced hunter education (ahe) hosts many events throughout the year. Learn to hunt programs learn to furharvest trapping, youth learn to hunt waterfowl, learn to hunt rabbits, let's go turkey hunting, displays at the iowa state fair. Host teacher training seminars across iowa. Officers can attend the national convention to learn about events in the outdoors and how to get people involved.
